Personal Profile.

Male, Professor, PhD supervisor, currently Vice President of South China of Agricultural University. Current research areas: fatty acid metabolism in green crabs; mechanism of deposition and regulation of collagen in the swim bladder of Sciaena albiflora; use of macroalgae for forage production.


Work experience

From September 1984 to July 1988, studied at the Department of Fisheries, Huazhong Agricultural University, with a bachelor's degree in agronomy.

July 1988-September 1997, worked at the Department of Animal Science, former Hubei Agricultural College.

From September 1997 to July 2000, studied biology at East China Normal University and obtained a Doctor of Science degree.

From July 2000 to November 2003, worked at the Department of Animal Science, former Hubei Agricultural College, as a lecturer, associate professor and supervisor of master's degree students; deputy director and director of the department (during this period, from February 2002 to October 2004, in-service postdoctoral research at the School of Life Sciences, Nanjing Normal University).

December 2003-October 2004, Professor, Master's degree supervisor, Yangtze River University, Dean of the School of Animal Science.

Professor, School of Animal Science, South China Agricultural University, October 2004-November 2008 (during which time, he was added as a supervisor for PhD students in July 2005)

From November 2008 to September 2019, he served as Vice President of Shantou University.

Vice President of South China Agricultural University from September 2019.


Research areas

He has chaired 21 scientific research projects, including national and provincial projects, and published about 40 academic papers. The main research areas include: fatty acid nutritional requirements in aquatic economy animals; gene expression and regulation of fatty acid synthase in aquatic economy animals; flavor quality in aquatic economy animals; immune growth enhancing additives in aquatic animals.


Awards

The Nutritional Needs of Chinese Hermit Crab and Environmentally Friendly Feed Development won the first prize of the 2005 Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award (4th place); the teaching and research project Integrated research and practice of aquaculture professional talent cultivation program and series of courses won the first prize of the 2005 Hubei Province Teaching Achievement Award (2nd place); it was awarded as the 2004 Hubei Province Advanced Individual in Theory Learning.


Teaching results

PhD students are currently enrolled in Aquatic Biology (Science) and Animal Nutrition and Feed (Agronomy), and Masters students in Aquatic Biology (Science) and Aquaculture (Agronomy).

He has lectured on the following undergraduate courses: Zoology, Bait Biology, Fish Ecology; Advanced Aquatic Biology and Advanced Aquatic Animal Nutrition and Feeding; Advanced Aquatic Biology (part of Aquatic Economy Animal Nutrition and Physiology).
