       Mai Kangsen, who studied at the Marine Department of Shandong Ocean University (now China Ocean University) in 1978, obtained a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in aquatic science from Shandong Ocean University in 1982 and 1985, and returned to China after receiving a doctorate from the National University of Ireland in 1995. He used to be dean and vice president of the Fisheries College of Ocean University of China. He is currently a Distinguished Professor of the Yangtze River Scholars Award Program of the Ministry of Education of the Chinese Ocean University, the leader of the Innovation Team of the Changjiang Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education, the Dean of the Fisheries College, and the recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has been engaged in the teaching, research and development of aquatic animal nutrition and feed science for a long time and has made outstanding contributions. He has presided over the National Basic Research (973) Program, the National High Technology Research and Development (863) Program, the National Science and Technology Support (Development) Program, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Natural Science Foundation, and the China-Canada Intergovernmental Cooperation Program. A series of scientific research projects, a number of results have passed the acceptance and identification, and has achieved industrialization, has created a direct output value of more than 20 billion yuan. He has published more than 160 academic papers in journals and above, including 82 in SCI, EI7, and 13 in ISTP (SCI papers cited 421). Editor, editor and editor of 7 books. It has obtained 24 national invention patents.

       Professor Macconson's scientific research achievements have won 10 national and provincial-level scientific and technological progress awards including the National Science and Technology Progress Second Prize (2006), and 1 international award; he was selected as one of the national “100 million talent projects”. And the second level; received the Ministry of Education's cross-century talent program; enjoy the special allowance of the State Council; won the National Excellent Returned Students, Shandong Province's outstanding young and middle-aged experts, Shandong Province's professional and technical talents,  Honorary title of “Top Ten Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Science and Technology Experts in Shandong Province”. The editor-in-chief Nutrition Needs for Aquaculture Animals was funded by the full publication fee of Huaxia Publishing Fund, and is the editor-in-chief of Non-pollution Fishing Feed Preparation Technology and Aquaculture Animal Nutrition and Feed Science (revised edition). He was invited to attend the International Academic Conference many times and was awarded the “Young Scientist Award” by the International Abalone Society.

       Professor McConson is a member of the editorial board of internationally renowned academic journals such as Aquaculture Research, Aquatic Living Resources, and Journal of Hydrobiology, and is a leading international academic journal - J. Exp. Mar. Biol. & Ecol., Aquaculture, J. Shellfish Research and Aquaculture Nutrition are employed as key reviewers in the nutrition of aquatic animals. He is currently the executive director of the China Fisheries Society and the chairman of the Aquaculture Animal Nutrition and Feed Committee. He was elected as the chairman of the International Abalone Society and the chairman of the 5th International Abalone Academic Symposium (Qingdao, October 2003). Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 6th World Chinese Fish and Shrimp Nutrition Symposium (Qingdao, September 2006), Organizing Committee of the 14th International Symposium on Fish Nutrition and Feed (Qingdao, June 2010) Chairman. The number of postgraduate students trained has reached 89.
