The 24th phase of the Marine Academic Forum of Our Institute was successfully held

On the afternoon of May 15, Professor Xuzhen of Huazhong Agricultural University and Professor Ye Jianmin of South China Normal University brought the latest research reports on fish immunoglobulin IgT and IgM to the teachers and students of our hospital in Conference Room 301 of Wen Lou. 

Professor Xuzhen's research interests are fish immunology, focusing on the study of the immune function of fish immunoglobulin and its B lymphocytes in the process of mucosal tissue pathogen infection, the interaction mechanism between fish immunoglobulin and mucosal microbial flora. In this lecture, Professor Xu first introduced the structure of the oral mucosal tissue of rainbow trout, then analyzed in detail the immune response of IgT immunoglobulin in oral mucosa after the infection of multi-child small melon worm, and also shared the mechanism of immunoglobulin IgT and IgM and oral mucosal microbial flora,the role played by IgT immunoglobulin and its B lymphocytes in the immune response of oral mucosa in fish was revealed. 

Professor Ye Jianmin is also engaged in the study of aquatic animal immunology, including the relationship between the structure and function of IgM antibodies in bony fish, the mechanism of humoral immune memory of immune B cells, the key molecular properties of supplements, and the healthy culture techniques of aquatic animals. In this lecture, Professor Ye introduced in detail the relationship between the structure and function of the IgM immunoglobulin in rainbow trout, and proposed that the low affinity antigen causes the IgM antibody of the fish B cells to produce the oligomers, while the high affinity antigen can cause the IgM antibody of the fish B cells to produce more dimer, the affinity maturation was accomplished by selectively retaining the IgM antibody with high polymerization state, and the affinity maturation process of the fish IgM immunoglobulin was expounded from a new angle.

During the lecture, Professor Xu and Professor Ye discussed the role of fish IgT and IgM in the immune system, respectively, on the issues raised by teachers and students.
